Open House is a time-honored event that happens around the country as students head back to school.  It is an opportunity for parents to meet their student’s teachers.

This year, Mann Middle had Open House outside rather than inside.

“I liked having Open House outside, because it was nice outside,” Mrs. Utz, an 8th grade teacher said.

Something new that was added this year was music and root beer floats.

“The root beer floats were fine, but I think they should have something more for next time,” Jason, a parent stated.

Next year the plan is to have a BBQ, along with music.  It will be more of a meet-and-greet, rather than the typical Open House.

One thing that some people thought is that teachers and staff should spend more time on technology. Some parents want to help their kids but can’t because they don’t know how to use the iPads.

“Overall, the Open House was fantastic. I would definitely come every year,” said Mrs. Utz.
